Scope

IPC/WHMA-A-620 is the only industry-consensus standard for the Requirements and Acceptance of Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies. IPC/WHMA-A-620 describes materials, methods, tests and acceptance criteria for producing crimped, mechanically secured and soldered interconnections and the related assembly activities associated with cable and harness assemblies.

IPC/WHMA-A-620 was developed by IPC and the Wire Harness Manufacturers Association (WHMA) (an affiliate of IPC).

How the IPC Certification Program Works

The IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification program candidates are certified once they complete their course of study, passing the mandatory certification examinations.  Optional modules including practical are noted and dated on the certificate once completed successfully.

Program Benefits

The IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification Program is considered the gold standard for cable and wire harness assembly, and can help ensure that products are assembled safely, correctly, and efficiently.
